Eastridge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a world-leading designer, manufacturer, and provider of optical solutions in its search for a Fiber Draw Manufacturing Technician in the Avon Connecticut area. The shift is 8 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for product flow using prints, recipes, and workmanship standards to ensure engineering and quality specifications are met.
• Monitoring fiber draw runs and making adjustments as needed
• Documenting all process aspects of run
• Processing fiber after draw
• Learning basic draw and QC inspection testing
• Basic troubleshooting of draw problems as needed
• Starting and shutting down draw runs
• Cleaning and inspection of coating dies
• Working safely around and with chemicals and water-cooled furnaces

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Technically savvy or have demonstrable mechanical ability.
• Must be comfortable working with tools and following procedures.
• The ability to read mechanical drawings, have basic PC skills and follow written work instructions is key.
• The ideal candidate will have similar manufacturing/extrusion experience, knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
• Associate's Degree/certification from an accredited technical program.
