FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

We are looking for a person to join our team as a Field Service Engineer.

The FSE (Field Service Engineer) will Supervise on-site installations of mechanical equipment and provide Start-Up Support, Troubleshooting, Commissioning, and Operator Training for projects at customer sites in USA and Internationally. The FSE will take direction from the Service Manager, in addition to following instructions from Assembly Manuals and Technical Drawings or Project Engineers. Daily Field Reports will be required to document project status, schedule progress, and quality assurance.

The FSE will also support our growing Service Business and our Sales team by promoting positive customer relations, performing Equipment Inspections, and proactively reporting any Field Sales opportunities. Field Sales opportunities would include equipment replacement, rebuilds, upgrades, spare parts, etc.

This position includes all expenses paid for travel to customer project sites. Travel will be both Domestic and International with a typical project duration range of approximately 1-2 weeks, which can vary depending on customer schedule needs. Some occasional travel will also be required to visit our fabrication shops and perform equipment inspections or do factory testing of our products.

Perform field service assignments, including but not limited to:

• Support projects through the stages of construction, field assembly, start-up, troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Perform in-process visual inspections, dimensional checks, and functional testing in accordance with our Quality assurance checklists.
• Submit daily field service reports with photos and other documentation demonstrating pertinent details, job progress, equipment status, field modifications and/or equipment.
• Provide supervision and technical advisement to site workers to assure proper field assembly, installation, repairs, maintenance, etc.
• Provide leadership to Field Projects by resolving problems, promoting positive customer relations, and assuring safe work practices.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and offer solutions and recommendations.
• Instruct customers on the proper operation and preventive maintenance or repairs of Bachmann products.
• Use field service assignments as an opportunity to upsell.
• Communicate with customers consistently to prospect for increasing service needs or parts sales opportunities.
• Follow-up with customers about any pending opportunities for equipment repairs, upgrades, or services.
• Support Company goals such as sales growth targets, budget forecasts, order intake plans, etc.
• Participate and Communicate with Sales and Project Management teams as needed, during proposal development stages and/or project execution stages.
• Travel Domestically and Internationally is required as needed.

• Travel expectations are approximately 75% or more, to assure proper project support and optimum customer engagement in the Field.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Personal - Hungry, Humble and Smart

Education – Associates or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering or related field a plus.

Job Experience - Proven experience in the construction or field service industry, performing dimensional checks, equipment reviews, and basic welding inspections. Ability to read mechanical drawings or “blueprints” related to metal fabrication and assembly. Additional experience with actuators such as electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment is a plus. A positive and proactive attitude is a plus.

Skills

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in MS Word and basic spreadsheets. CAD or Drafting programs are a plus.
• Ability to document project status by writing timely and accurate daily reports.
• Self-motivated, accountable, accurate, and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to review mechanical drawings, blueprints, or schematics.
• Good understanding of Total Quality Management and ISO Systems.
• Ability to review technical specifications or commercial contract details and communicate solutions in a team environment, while meeting customer schedules and company expectations.
• Availability to travel domestic, or international, as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• While performing this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in elevated areas, or in outside weather conditions. The employee will be required to travel by Airplane, Automobile, Taxi or etc to reach customer project sites domestically or internationally. The employee might occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to high. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided for the employee as required by OSHA
• This position may be exposed to prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, etc.
• The employee might occasionally be required to lift and/or move 50lbs to 70lbs, such as components or testing equipment.
