Laboratory Plastics Essentials (LPE) is a $1.0B business within the Laboratory Products Division (LPD), which offers a broad set of differentiated consumable products primarily serving Biotech, Pharma, Healthcare, Diagnostic and Academic markets. LPE is a global business with 5,000 employees, 12 manufacturing sites and numerous distribution hubs, supported by a global finance team. The business has significant exposure to high growth markets and is focused on providing fit for purpose solutions to our customers.

As a member of the Laboratory Plastics Essentials Finance team, the Financial Analyst III will play a key role partnering with the LHS and LCS businesses to drive profitable growth. We are passionate about cross-functional teamwork to establish and achieve quarterly and annual performance targets, building and presenting financial models/scorecards/reports, providing impactful insights that support our leaders on strategic business decisions!

What you will do:

  • Analyze financial and business performance. Identify financial highlights that will enable understanding of progress against plans.

  • Support reviews of monthly and quarterly results with segment business team leaders, providing insights on financial performance and forecast recommendations.

  • Collaborate with sites, regional, and divisional finance teams to understand and explain P&L results.

  • Continue to innovate and evolve business reporting providing insight to LPE leadership and the BU Segment teams supporting profitable revenue growth.

  • Coordinate financial reporting & forecasting process for consolidated segments inclusive of P&L reporting, revenue, margin, operating expenses and foreign exchange impacts.

  • Using PowerBI & Excel, develop dashboards, tools, and metrics to analyze results, track performance against planned objectives and support leadership decision-making.

  • Collaborate cross functionally to drive finance project coordination and resolution in partnership with IT, finance & leadership teams.

  • Assist with the preparation of finance and business presentations, including monthly and quarterly business reviews

  • Continuous improvement of reporting using automation tools and processes to drive productivity and efficiency

  • Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Plan (STRAP) activities, working across business functions (R&D, regional Commercial teams, and Operations) to drive alignment on financial targets.

Education/Experience:

University Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or Finance required, MBA or advanced degree in Finance preferred.

  • Preferred 5+ years experience in Accounting or Finance roles with proven with the ability to progress in multinational matrixed organization.

Experience:

  • An ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and a strong aptitude in financial analysis
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment preferred
  • Experience in the Life Sciences industry is desired
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), Hyperion (CMR, HFM), PowerBI, Cognos (or equivalent) and PowerPoint is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • The successful candidate is personable, highly ethical and thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Proactive communication capabilities, identifying and addressing issues via candid dialogue
  • Understanding of GAAP and ability to perform financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of Hyperion or equivalent multidimensional database, sophisticated Microsoft Excel and PowerBI skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience collaborating with global teams to tackle problems, drive accountability, and lead improvement efforts
  • Ability to make logical assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and highlight performance drivers/trends
