Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, and attractive manner in accordance with established procedures, and so directed by the supervisor, to assure that the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and follow cleaning schedule/instructions from Supervisor and/or as outlined in our established housekeeping policy and procedures.
- Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. as instructed. Ensure that caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.
- Clean carpet, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting as instructed.
- Clean baseboards by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing.
- Clean hallways (carpets), mechanical rooms, and shower floors as necessary.
- Available to assist as needed with other duties specific to the Housekeeping Department.
- Dispose of trash in proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liners.
- Report all unsafe, hazardous conditions or defective equipment to your supervisor immediately.
- Report burned out lights, to include exit lights, room lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc. to your supervisor as soon as possible.
- Ensure that supplies needed for your assignments are replenished as they get low.
- Attend and participate in In-Service educational classes and on-the-job training.
- Assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner and free of all noxious orders for patient comfort and convenience.
- Ensure that patients rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are followed.
- Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of equipment, supplies, etc. before leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc.
- Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects,
such as protruding mop/broom/handles, etc. and assure that all cleaning supplies, equipment, etc., are stored at the end of your shift/work day.
Qualifications :
- Education -must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education.
- Experience - Non. On the job training provided.
