Job description
I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Operates fork truck to remove units from banding line and load trucks for shipping units to customer. Keeps tally of what is shipped to customer.
II. SAFETY PROCEDURES:
- Read and understand SAFETY RULES & HOUSEKEEPING GUIDELINES and receive training in proper operating procedures
- Receive instructions in the following;
o Fork Truck operation
o Hearing protection
o Safety shoes
o Moving machinery
o Conveyor safety
o Lifting and pushing/pulling
III. HOUSEKEEPING:
- Perform daily clean-up of area
- Dump trash as needed
- Perform extra clan up during downtime
- Maintain neat & orderly warehouse
IV. REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be trained and licensed
- Read & use Factory Order, production schedule, and loading manifest to determine loading requirements
- Ability to:
o Use loading manifest to know what to load
o Perform daily inspection of fork truck
o Operate fork truck in a safe manner
o Properly load & unload trailers
o Make out bill of lading
o Properly store units in warehouse
o Supply machines with stock &/or materials
o Properly receive materials
o Properly palletize or shrink wrap a unit
o Maintain tally of what has been loaded
o Identify units
o Handle units to avoid damage
V. EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
- Computer input terminal
- Fork truck
- Shrink wrap equipment
- Hand bander
VI. QUALITY:
- Perform the following quality checks
o Visually inspect units for appearance
o Visually inspect units for damage
VII. COMMUNICATION:
- Verbal
- Written
VIII. EDUCATIONAL TRAINING:
- Ability to read and do basic math
- Ability to read a tape measure
