Job Description

The Software Engineer of the new Care Management Applications Team at Signify Health Ireland, you will establish & manage a team responsible for the design, delivery & operation of a new front-end application, as well as the associated back-end microservices that we are designing to create the next generation of Return to Home & Return to Care product offerings. These products are pivotal to the overall company strategy of seamlessly connecting members to & from their homes. Where an in-home health evaluation results in a referral to an appropriate primary care or specialist provider, the care management application manages the effective orchestration of those transitions, as well as surfacing other preventative capabilities that ensure that member remains healthy in their own home upon their return from care – thus creating a more connected, effective care experience for all

Responsibilities

• Develop your own technical designs as well as contribute & review technical designs from across your team.
• Maintain & continually improve high standards of software quality by writing high-quality code.
• Develop "best-in-class" engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable.
• Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through iterative design reviews, peer programming & frequent deployments
• Ensure cross team collaboration with other software engineers, data engineers, analytics and architects in the planning, design, development, testing, and maintenance of web and desktop-based care management applications & backend microservices
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coach others - you can mentor junior developers on the team, you can explain your work, you can ask good questions, you listen to your peers and your customers, and you like to give and receive feedback.
• Clear and effective communications, be it when you provide feedback to your team, review technical design or code artifacts or explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical colleagues across the business.
• System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.
• Consider testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and delivered.
• Partner with our quality engineering teams to write automated tests and expose test coverage issues, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
• Proactively reviews the performance and capacity of all aspects of production: code, infrastructure, data, and message processing
• Responsible for the security and privacy of any and all de-identified health information that may be accessed during normal work activities
• Contribute to the build out and hiring ramp up for the new R&D site in Galway
• Gain a working understanding of Signify Health's businesses and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.
• Be a strong partner to your product & user experience counterparts as well as other parts of the business
• Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach & designing this into the applications & services you build

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience of Software Development working with a mix of front and back end technologies in a product oriented, cross functional engineering team
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering or related field, or completion of a Code/Developer academy program
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, async programming patterns, parallel programming).
• Hands on experience with a number of general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C#, .NET, Typescript, Java, Python, Scala, & frameworks such as ASP.Net, Angular and React
• Extensive prior work with cloud-based systems, Azure experience preferred
• Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture principles and techniques, object-oriented design principles, functional programming and database design and implementation.
• Experience with application containerization and container management is a plus

• Experience of DevOps best practices and automation techniques using CI/CD solutions (AzDo and GitHub) and experience of live site operations for business critical services measures through DORA metrics.
• Extensive experience using agile methodologies (experience scaling agile via the SAFe framework is desirable)
