Role Profile

The Fund Services function operates as an Oversight and Control function across our various outsourced service providers in multiple jurisdictions and as a point of contact and intermediary between the Mediolanum group entities in Ireland, Italy and Spain. The role involves supporting the Fund Services Supervisor in an interesting mix of routine controls-oriented work, regulatory and other reporting, problem solving and project management. The position requires an individual who can demonstrate an understanding of Fund Accounting and Administration. While the role contains some routine tasks it generally requires the individual to deal with ad-hoc issues as they arise while focusing on internal deadlines against deliveries of the outsourced service providers. This role would suit a person with a track record in achieving deliverable targets in the Fund Administration business, seeking a move to the Asset Manager side of the business.

Duties

  • Oversight and Control: Support the Fund Services Supervisor in the day-to-day oversight of operational interactions between Management Company, Investment Managers, Administrators, Custodians, etc.; oversight of NAV calculations process and ability to review and challenge the data provided by the third-party administrators.


  • Reporting: Monthly preparation of Board documents and ability to analyze and process the relevant information provided by the administrators in order to be presented before the Board of Directors; preparation of regulatory reporting on a timely basis including AIFMD return, Covip, Italian Whitelist; assisting Administrators with the preparation and review of audited and interim financial statements, coordinating German Tax Reporting; ability to carry out the dividend distributions process involving both calculations of the same and issue of the relevant communications; ability to review and verify OGCs/TERs.


  • Project Management: Assist the Fund Services Supervisor during regular meetings with the Service Providers to initiate and document progress on multiple projects of different nature. Demonstrate the ability of understanding and capturing the different aspects involved in each specific projects including but not limited to the accounting, IT, trading and risk/compliance side. Assisting with the opening of Custody accounts in different countries and currencies, coordinating the launch of new classes and funds and on-boarding of new delegate managers.


  • Management of Relationships with internal and external clients: The candidate will become a primary point of contact between third the party service providers and auditors in the various countries where the funds are marketed and the Mediolanum Teams both in Dublin and abroad. The successful candidate will be responsible for the quarterly review of the service providers and is expected to participate in meetings with external these parties.

  • Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience as a Fund Accountant/Administrator.

  • Computer Skills - Excellent PC skills especially MS Excel (to advance level incl. pivot tables, lookup formulae, data filters and other complex formulae), Word and Microsoft Office.

  • Industry Knowledge – Good knowledge of financial instruments, valuations process & Central Bank regulations are a must. Strong knowledge of Mutual Funds structures and ability to adhere to tight deadlines.

  • Proactivity and ability to prioritize tasks - The candidate must show flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Display Attention to Details in all aspects of work and relationship.

  • The ideal candidate is self-motivated and focused on resolving issues quickly. The successful candidate is expected to be able to develop strong business relationships both internally and externally, have a good attitude to problem solving and strong ethical values.

  • Excellent numeric and communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Business or financial services qualification or studying for same. This is not essential but would be an advantage.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience as a Fund Accountant or in a Fund Administration or similar role in the Funds Industry

  • Appropriate 3rd Level Qualification
