Blue Marble Geographics is seeking a GIS software Product Manager professional for our cutting-edge mapping software product lines. We are looking for an energetic, tech savvy individual that loves to learn in a fast- paced environment. This position is a key role in the support of our growing customer base and a valued member of our team of professionals. The ideal candidate has a passion for GIS, software and for satisfying customers, as well as the ability to get down into the details without losing sight of the big picture. Responsibilities of the GIS Software Product Manager Support Role include:

• Responsible for the planning and research associated with the development of Blue Marble software.
• Write specification documents to outline proposed functionality and communicate with the Development team throughout the process.
• Ensure the development meets the requirements and address design issues throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in feature testing and Q/A of our products.
• Maintain and update a Jira based software issue tracking / project planning system.
• Manage the release schedule and adapt as needed communicating changes to the company and all involved.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and standards.
• Support our sales team with technical sales, web demos, and training.
• Use troubleshooting skills to accurately diagnose problems, document, and effectively escalate when necessary.
• Assist with marketing content creation and documentation as needed.
• Travel for conferences or customer training may be required.
• A strong background in the basics of mapping, GIS, and coordinate system support is required.

• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Product Manager or CTO

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geography, GIS, Applied Environmental Science, STEM, or related field.
• Working knowledge of GIS and Geodesy
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), as well as an upbeat, get it done personality.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize what is the critical path and what is not and escalate as needed.
• An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in software and customer support, testing, and training.
• Software quality assurance understanding is also desirable.
• Experience in software product lifecycle strongly desired.
• Excellent eye for detail.
