The Golf Club of Georgia and Horseshoe Bend CC seek an energetic, outgoing, engaging, talented, and knowledgeable Golf Shop Merchandiser, dedicated driving the success of retail sales in our Golf Shops. The Golf Retail Buyer and Merchandiser will be expected to create a dynamic merchandise mix based on member preferences and emerging trends. This person is responsible for achieving sales and gross margin goals through leveraging purchasing power, understanding rebate programs, selection, pricing, and promotion of merchandise. This position will develop and drive a strategy to appropriately plan from history and react to sales trends in order to maximize business for two prestigious private clubs in the Atlanta market.
Job Tasks (including but not limited to):
- Lead, manage and train golf shop attendants.
- Purchasing, Receiving, and Inventory Management.
- In charge of display, promotion, and sales of apparel and merchandise.
- Visual Merchandising and Appearance of Golf Shops
- Rotating product throughout the golf shop on weekly basis.
- Ensures retail point of sale is accurate and up to date at all time and ties to inventory.
- Place special merchandise orders.
- Responsible for innovative and tasteful displays for all season and holidays.
- Achieving Sales and Gross Margin Goals.
- Budgeting and Reporting.
- Develop a Vendor Buying Calendar.
- Leverage Buying Power, Discounts, and Rebates.
- Research and assess member trends and industry trends.
- Sets example in the department for the other employees to follow regarding organization, cleanliness, proper attire and proper Member relations.
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and maintains a professional image at all times.
- Understands and complies with all policies set forth in the Club Employee Guide and Handbook.
- Other dues as assigned by management.
Candidate Experience and Qualifications:
- Five (5) years merchandising experience in retail industry, preferably in appeal.
- Buyer must be able to operate with optimism, nimbleness, and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office, required.
- Confidence in presenting plans and projections to management.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and manage workload effectively with minimal supervision.
- Professional and friendly demeanor.
Physical Requirements
- Continuous standing and repetitive actions.
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, pulling.
- Occasionally required to sit or stand at computer station for long periods.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time position.
- Work is performed in private golf and country club environment.
- Frequent contact with members, guests, employees and outside vendors, etc.
- Continual member and guest contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.

Compensation
$60,000 - $100,000 annually
