The principal office location is in San Francisco, CA, with field offices and operations in Peninsula, South San Francisco, Benicia, Richmond, and Concord area. An additional smaller operation is in the Midwest with offices in Wisconsin.

Alvah Group is a primary Distribution Electric Contractor for PG&E in the bay area and has been working in the area since 2007. We maintain PG&E’s Overhead and Underground Electrical distribution system along with performing civil construction and providing traffic control services.

Position Summary

Alvah and UTCS are rapidly growing, and we need an entry level mobile mechanic to support our growing fleet needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Trouble shooting and diagnosing issues
• Report damage to supervisor
• Schedule repair times
• Assist lead mechanic with other repairs
• Prep vehicle records and report manually
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles
• Ability to access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Perform safety inspections (BIT & DOT inspections) of equipment and prepare required safety documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience as a mechanic
• Strong Troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must own your own tools
• Fabrication: welding and machine work experience preferable
• Well-rounded in electrical work
• Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class B license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Weekend availability

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
