Hunter Savage are working with a huge multi-national multi-sector business on their recruitment of a Group Tax Accountant. This is a primarily remote role with the only proviso that the successful candidate needs to be based in Ireland so they can attend meetings in one of the company sites from time to time.

This role would suit an accountant with excellent knowledge of Irish tax legislation and practices – either coming from a practice or industry background. Reporting into the Group Head of Tax, this is a brand new role within the organization in Ireland and will give the person the ability to influence the company’s tax strategy, policies and processes, compliance etc and will ultimately be the “go to” for senior finance stakeholders across the business when it comes to tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• All aspects of tax support across the group, including year-end tax provisioning and disclosures
• Assist with the collation of data for corporation tax returns
• VAT & RCT returns
• Review, documentation and improvements of tax controls, procedures and systems
• Regular tax advice to internal stakeholders
• Support R&D tax credit claims
• Review and implementation of new tax legislation to ensure robust adherence to new standards
• Ad hoc project and training

Background:

• Relevant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA) with specific Irish tax knowledge and experience
• UK tax knowledge is not a requirement but you must be open/keen to learn
• Excellent communicator and relationship builder
• Appreciation of deadlines and the ability to work to different time limits across different departments
• Self motivated individual with a desire to progress
