You will make an impact by:
- Governing regional OHS compliance.
- Support development of corporate policy and implementing it at regional level.
- Education of operations leadership on critical OHS requirements.
- Keeping up to date on relevant updates regional OHS legislation as it develops.
- Proactively communicating and planning for any needed legal updates to the OHS management system.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and support for the OHS Americas department and teams.
- Ensuring alignment between global strategies and regional/local initiatives and activities
- Driving Novozymes OHS strategy implementation for region Americas.
- Driving OHS knowledge sharing and development with regional subject matter experts and sites.
- Providing professional OHS training programs for the region.
- Ensuring effective delivery of OHS services across the region, including site performance reviews.
- Supporting emergency response OHS activities.
- Assisting in engineering design for new equipment, modifications or facility improvements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
To succeed you must hold:
- Preferable MSc or alternatively BSc within Health & Safety related fields
- 10+ years relevant OHS experience.
- 5+ years relevant managerial experience is required.
- Strong knowledge regarding all areas of occupational Health & Safety
- Expert knowledge of occupational hazards and management of such
- Relevant experience in an operational/industrial manufacturing setting preferred.
- Ability to engage, communicate and positively influence others across the entire workforce.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills building on empowerment and employee motivation.
- Board Certified Safety Professional required and other relevant certifications within OHS preferred.
