The Performance measurement & Portfolio Analysis team is a critical part of the investment team at Mediolanum.
The team has grown in recent years and are responsible for creating performance and positioning data across our fund range as well as sourcing the inputs to make this possible. The Head of this team will be charged with building further on the successes to date, mentoring, and leading the team to be able to provide the multiple stakeholders with high quality portfolio analysis.

The successful candidate needs to have previous experience in either portfolio management or portfolio construction. The role will require the successful to coordinate multiple tasks across the team ensuring that key milestones are met. The individual needs to be able to understand the requirements of different stakeholders and translate this into clear deliverables. The performance team is part of an expanding Investment team, and as such the role will require the successful candidate to be adaptable in assisting in creating new processes and leveraging off tools to either provide management oversight or portfolio managers insight into position taking.

Managing team members and key stakeholders effectively.

Performance measurement (daily or monthly) provided in any currency across any subset of portfolios, including security, industry, economic sector, country, manager, asset class, composite, or total fund level; access to over 3,500 published indices or customized benchmarks

Performance Attribution analysis at asset class, sector, country, region, style, individual security and total fund/balanced levels; numerous proprietary factor-based attribution models

Analysis, Peer Grouping and manager rankings within Morningstar

Portfolio Construction Tool allowing to analyse risk/return implications of various asset allocations and manager selections to see which scenarios produce optimized results

Ex-ante/Ex Post risk reporting

Solvency II reporting

Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Risk Analytics

The ability to interact with all stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of business requests.

Experience in mentoring or managing colleagues.

10 years’ experience providing portfolio analysis & support directly to front office investment personnel, preferably at an asset manager.

Knowledge of financial markets and portfolio construction.

Demonstrable experience; including asset allocation, performance measurement & attribution & risk analysis.

A working knowledge of SQL or Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Cognos or Qlik is an advantage.

Knowledge or experience with scripted languages (Python, R) and data science exposure is an advantage

A good knowledge of equities, fixed income and mutual funds. Understanding of requirements under different regulatory regimes, including Solvency II, UCITS & MIFID

Experience with one or more of Bloomberg PORT, Style Research, Morningstar, MSCI risk analytics, or MYSIS Fusion Invest is a distinct advantage.

Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related discipline, with a CFA charter holder or progress towards CFA being an advantage.
