Heavy Equipment Operator Job Summary

Honc is seeking an experienced, hardworking and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. We are looking for a safety conscious, qualified equipment operator with experience on a wide range of projects. Our ideal candidate would have proven knowledge in the operation of excavators, dozers, track and wheel loaders, compactors. Knowledge of Septic Install, Well drilling, and/or Residential Grading is a plus.

Heavy Equipment Operator Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the Company’s operating safety policies and procedures
• Ensure company equipment, material and the work site are maintained, kept clean and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials and refuse.
• The safe and effective operation of heavy equipment including excavators and dozers, etc.
• Acts independently with minimal supervision
• Operation of equipment with complex control systems requiring a high degree of manipulative skill and dexterity
• Responsible for wearing appropriate safety/protective clothing/gear
• Other duties as assigned

Heavy Equipment Operator Requirements and Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
• Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background/driver check is required
• Operate excavators with various attachments, hydraulic thumb, sorting grapple, shear, skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, etc.
• Proven ability to think critically to troubleshoot equipment and evaluate each site
• Ability to sit, climb, squat, bend or stand for an extended period of time. In addition, ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Ability to communicate and report effectively
• Ability to perform intense manual labor
• Certifications and Competency Cards are a plus

Compensation

• Based on experience
• Full Time: 35-50+ hour work week

• Driver's License (Preferred)
