Host / Hostess

The basics responsibilities of greeting and seating guests, taking reservations and phone orders are not difficult. Being a host(ess) at North Carolina's 1st Co-Op Brewery is more than being an attendant; we want hosts who people will remember and come back to see. We want to create a culture hospitality that is about sincerely putting our guests and their experience first, being passionate about what we're serving from our beer...to wine...to cocktails...to the food.

Great service is gracious, knowledgeable, honest and caring. It is fulfilling the expectations and hopes of the guest, to the highest standard of service in a genuine, friendly manner. Great service is the ability to recognize names and provide personalized attention to the guest. Great service is soundless and done quickly with precision. Great service is not obtrusive or high pressure. Work should flow silently, efficiently, and with amiability in order to create an atmosphere of comfort.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide prompt, friendly, attentive service while ensuring that each guest has a delightful experience
• Ensure that each guest has a smooth, seamless transition from the front door to their table
• Responsible for clearing and resetting tables while keeping the front desk informed and up-to-date
• Handle to-go orders from start to finish ensuring that all details are correct and that the food is ready in a timely manner
• Establish and maintain restaurant and guest relationships
• Advocate for our responsible alcohol beverage service program
• Have a working knowledge of the restaurant’s menus, including Chef features, extensive beer and wine offerings and other specialty drinks
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety, ensuring that our maintenance and sanitation standards are met at all times

The hours for this position are Tuesday - Saturday 4:00pm - 9:30pm. Additional hours are available, if desired.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
