Description

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests, by welcoming and warmly greeting guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes.

While it is not possible to detail all activities and responsibilities related to the Host position, the following contains a list of duties a Host at our restaurant can expect to perform on a typical day:

Greet all guests in a warm, friendly manner and seat them at tables or direct them to the bar or waiting areas.

Provide guests with menus and inform them of their server’s name upon seating.

Record guest names and the number of people in their party and provide guests with estimated waiting time when immediate seating is limited.

Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls.

Receive and record guests' dining reservations.

Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary.

Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.

Clear, clean and reset dining room tables after guests have left.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions

Basic mathematical skills

Complete and pass restaurant-approved foodhandler/food safety training and coursework

Able to communicate effectively with managers, employees and guests (in person and on the phone)

Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and containers weighing up to 30 pounds

Stamina and availability to work 30-40 hours per week

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $18.55 per hour
