Job Description – Housekeeper

Job Purpose

The work of housekeepers provides a lasting impression on guests. As a housekeeper, you’re part of the team that keeps the hostel clean and pleasant. You will also be using the systems in place to stay organized, keep inventory stocked, work safely, and communicate with front desk staff and managers. Your duties are as follows:

Key Requirements

• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers

• Must display good, friendly customer service

• Work safely and follow company and State guidelines for illness and injury prevention

• Follow company and State guidelines for preventing transmission of Covid-19 Responsibilities

• Clean and arrange all areas of rooms to hostel standards for guest arrival

• Clean and maintain common areas of the hostel

• Clean and maintain restrooms

• Perform laundry duties as necessary, including operating machines, handling and folding linen (dirty and clean), and making beds

• Maintain housekeeping supplies and inform manager of low inventory

• Ensure a high level of customer service

• Communicate with Front Desk about check outs and room status

• Report any repairs needed to management

• Practice proper chemical safety and storage

• Work safely to prevent musculoskeletal injury and illness

• Perform deep cleans or extraordinary cleaning tasks as directed by manager

• Follow Covid-19 guidelines and sanitization schedules
