Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal
The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The primary responsibility of the HR Business Partner is to provide support to the plant in areas of recruitment & selection, learning & development and provide guidance and support to staff to ensure harmonious employee relations. Ensure all employees use the different functions of HR , such as Learning and Development , Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits and the HR service centre.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Management
Lead and understand organisational capability needs, coaching managers to consider deeply their team’s development and training needs.
Providing guidance & advice to managers on the optimisation of department structure and organisation effectiveness
Culture Builder
Drive and promote cultural programs through consistent and imaginative communication at all levels within the organization.
Support and encourage the development of an effective team based working philosophy in the Plant
Employee Relations
Counsel and give guidance to Team leaders in the implementation of local HR policies and relevant employment legislation.
Maintain relationships with groups or individuals outside the HR Department.
Coach to the Business
Encouraging the use of Abbott Learning resources, coach managers to optimise the talents within their departments to facilitate optimal performance.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:
High level of contact with all employees, needs to be an effective communicator.
High level of contact with external agencies.
Ability to deal with all personnel within the plant, across Abbott Ireland plants and with the U.S.
Third level qualification in relevant discipline and / or membership of Institute of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management
