Job Description:
Seeking a full time Dietetic Internship Program Director for our Future Education Model (FEM) Graduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Program is a graduate-level, competency-based masters degree and dietetic internship program combined that integrates coursework and experiential learning for the MS,RDN degree.
Program director will work closely with our partnered university and follow ACEND requirements for the Future Education Model Graduate Program.
Applicant must have the following:
- Master Degree from an accredited university
- Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Experience in the field of education and/or clinical dietetics
- A passion for education and teaching the next generation of potential Registered Dietitian Nutritionists
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the program in a full-time, yearly capacity. The expectation is to allocate 100% to time management of the program.
- Will be assigned as the Graduate Program Director only and not direct another ACEND-accredited nutrition and dietetics education program.
- Develop policies and procedures to effectively manage all components of the program and to ensure fair, equitable and considerate treatment of prospective and enrolled interns (such as program admission, retention and completion policies). Adheres to all ACEND responsibilities.
- Promotes intern recruitment, advisement, evaluation and counseling through each phase of the program process.
- Provide Verification Statement once program requirements are completed for all students
- Foster partnership with pre-determined university with institutional accreditation
- Oversee the Supervised Experiential Learning (SEL) portion of the program and all other program director responsibilities as specified by ACEND
- Appoint preceptors who will provide SEL
- Provide orientation to faculty and preceptors
- Ensure continued competence of preceptors
- Establish and maintain affiliation agreements for SEL sites
- Maintains program accreditation, including:
- Timely submission of fees, reports and requests for major program changes;
- Maintenance of student records, including student advising plans and verification statements (to be kept indefinitely);
- Maintenance of complaints about the program received from students or others, including disposition of complaint;
- On-going review of the program’s curriculum to meet accreditation standards;
- Communication and coordination with program faculty, preceptors and others involved with the program;
- Facilitation of processes for continuous program evaluation and student learning outcomes assessment; and
- Timely submission of required documentation supporting the graduate’s eligibility for the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing exam for registered dietitian nutritionists.

- Able to effectively establish, direct, develop, manage and maintain all aspects of a graduate level internship program
- Challenge each student to reach their full potential during their tutelage in the program through teaching, mentoring, and counseling
- integrity and commitment to ensuring that students are able to graduate with the skills to pass their RDN exam and gain entry level positions in the field of dietetics
Performance Goals:
- Maintain all credentialing requirements by ACEND for a Graduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Assist 80%, or better, of interns to complete the program requirements within designated timeframe
- Achieve the program’s one-year pass rate of at least 80% on the Commission on Dietetic Registrations (CDR) registration exam for RDN for each calendar year
- Promote the program in a professional manner in all correspondences and meetings as evidenced by positive feedback and no formal complaints
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree Required
- Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Experience:
- Minimum of five years professional experience post credentialing
- Experienced in the field of education, nutrition and dietetics
Salary
- Starts at $80,000
Location
- Position is a remote position with the ability to travel for sight visits by ACEND to our corporate offices in Bell Works, Holmdel NJ as needed.
- Must have fully setup home office with computer, printer, reliable Wi-Fi with the ability to work remotely efficiently.
