The IT Learning Spaces Intermediate Technology Support Specialist fills a critical role in ensuring operational continuity for shared devices in computer labs, collaborative spaces, and virtual environments. The role works collaboratively with colleges and departments across the University to understand their shared device technology needs. The role is responsible for identifying hardware requirements, deployment of required software, and troubleshooting enduser issues in over 50 spaces throughout the University. This position also assists with managing the University’s printing solution, WEPA; facilitating vendor engagement and analyzing usage to ensure optimal user experience.

Job Requirements


Required Education:
Bachelor's degree, AND:

  • 36 months experience as IT Help Desk, Client Support, or related field.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 84 months related experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of different applications and systems.
  • Ability to diagnosis and solve IT problems.
  • Knowledge of remote desktop applications.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Certifications:

  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sits for prolonged periods of time. Use of computer. Manual dexterity. Communicate effectively and listens. Standard Office Environment.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Customer Service experience
  • Familiarity with PowerShell
  • Familiarity with server management
  • Familiarity with APIs
  • Active Directory experience
