Inventory Clerk / Night

Responsible for the receipt of daily orders from the loading dock and verifying the correct quantity and unit of issue. Responsible for the steady flow, stocking and rotation of all non-asset supplies and inventory items for the Central Processing Department, Operating Room, PACU, Day Surgery, Perfusion, Neuro Radiology, Out of OR Anesthesia locations and Anesthesia Technical Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Check in daily orders from the loading dock verifying receipts against requests for all areas. This includes the breakdown of three daily deliveries from our main distributor as well as direct orders with key vendors. This amounts to 20-25 pallets daily.
Stocking of 43 Operating Rooms with specific stock lists for approximately 110 surgical procedures per day.
Stocking of ten exchange carts with identified products for each surgical service (Vascular, Ortho, etc.).
Stocking of OR/CSS supply areas; General OR Supply, Specialty OR Supply, Anesthesia Cart Room, Perfusion, Trauma, Amigo Suite and CPD.
Stocking of specialty medical gases and Cardiac and Perfusion refrigerators with solutions and items for use in transplant surgery.
Stocking of PACU, Pre-Op, Day Surgery, Anesthesia Work Room, attire carts and employee lounges.
Stocking of 150 General and Cardiac Anesthesia carts with supplies for each surgical procedure. Includes recovery of used carts from throughout the OR and Out of OR locations.
Stocking of 2 Interventional Neuro Radiology rooms with medical/surgical and anesthesia supplies. Includes tabulation of all supplies provided, insuring correct inter-departmental billing.
Stocking of employee locker rooms, carts and Pods with forms, stationary and office supplies, surgical caps and booties.
Stocking of perishable food items and beverages in the PACU, Day Surgery and staff lounge areas. Includes paper and plastic service ware and cups.
Stocks products using FIFO (First In, First Out-rotational) procedure to avoid stockpiling and ensure sterility of product.
Inspects products for expiration date and package integrity to ensure sterility. Stocking items properly according to sterile and non-sterile restrictions.
Works within an Operating Room environment understanding sterile technique used during surgery. Makes deliveries of items to Operating Rooms as requested.
Works within the hospital and departmental policies relating to hospital safety and infection control.
High School diploma or equivalency required.
One year related experience preferred.
Previous exposure to OR/Hospital medical inventory systems and products preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/JOB CONDITIONS
This position requires eight hours of time spent walking and standing. This job also involves routine lifting of heavy objects. Pushing and pulling of pallets and carts is required.
Exposure to an Operating Room, Pre-Op and Recovery Room environment is a requirement. Entering the Operating Room while a procedure is in progress is required
A strict dress code including surgical scrub suits is required.
Some handling of hazardous materials is required.
