Role Profile

We are looking for a motivated investment analyst, with up to 10 years of industry experience, to join an exciting and growing manager research team.
In this role you will be part of researching and selecting managers in different asset classes. You will have the opportunity to interact, interview and visit the best asset managers in the world. The Analyst will also assist the team in developing and maintaining a buy list of funds used to support the creation of a broad range of fund of fund portfolios.
You will be working closely with the FoF portfolio managers to identify the best fitted product for their needs. You will help to deliver strong performance to our clients.

Duties

  • Responsible for the identification and selection of managers for addition to the buy list

  • Responsible for supervising selected strategies on the buy list and recommending removal according to our monitoring process

  • Engage and work alongside portfolio managers in the ongoing monitoring of existing and prospective fund investments

  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the fund selection and monitoring process, particularly with a view to adding sound quantitative techniques which can build good efficiencies and deliver a more focused approach

  • Maintain and develop our manager research database and records

  • Work collegiately with the team across other asset classes as required

  • Support compliance, regulatory, product specialist and legal functions as the need arises

  • Ad hoc projects as required

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Up to 10 years relevant work experience within manager research (equity and/or fixed income) or direct equity investing

  • A strong interest in investment markets and a high degree of proactivity

  • Relevant degree

  • Preferably the candidate should have obtained or in the process of obtaining the CFA qualification

  • Familiarity of the main asset classes with a strong knowledge of Equities &/or Fixed Income including associated styles / approaches

  • Ability to understand and communicate the key risks stemming from investment strategies

  • Numeracy and accuracy as a pre-requisite as is the ability to work to deadlines in a team based environment

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and communication skills (both oral and written)

  • Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Style Analytics and Python is an advantage
