In this role you will be responsible for architecture, implementation, management, and monitoring of all aspects of our network operations including WAN and any future cloud migration initiatives. You will be responsible for local area, wide area, wireless data and voice networks to ensure maximum uptime for systems and users. The role includes operating as a key contributor in the design of existing and future network systems, configurations, documentation, and management of the installation of new and existing I.T. networks, and monitoring network performance. You will be responsible (along with others) for maintaining and upgrading existing systems and preparing our existing network and infrastructure environment for broader cloud operations, migrations, and support.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to current and future network architecture.
  • Design system configurations and directing system installations.
  • Resolve bottlenecks in data / network traffic and troubleshoot “root cause”.
  • Defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Design and implement new technical solutions and improve resilience of the current network environment.
  • Provide required network support for switches, routers, access points, security hardware and other network equipment.
  • Configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network devices, software, and protocols.
  • Optimize network performance.
  • Monitoring performance.
  • Troubleshooting network problems and outages.
  • Scheduling upgrades.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners on network optimization.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting of Voice over IP (VoIP) systems and all network connectivity.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for wireless communication devices (including, but not limited to, wireless access points, laptops, handhelds, voice pick phones, printers, and warehouse devices).
  • Secure all network systems by collaborating with the internal and/or external information and network security teams to establish and enforce policies and monitor user access, (including timely upgrading of software and firmware on all network devices).
  • Maintains a current and accurate inventory of all network devices under their responsibility.
  • Order and distribute equipment to sites as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate and current documentation on processes, procedure, and infrastructure.
  • Processes and prioritizes work requests and escalations in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
  • Prior Network Architecture and Design experience in an enterprise level environment (50+ sites)
  • 4 year degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related discipline.
  • 6+ years of work-related networking experience.
  • 6+ years of technical computer experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IT field
  • 5+ years of experience in network security
  • In depth understanding of network firewall (Palo Alto), routers, switches, and other devices (preferably Cisco)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory administration required
  • Understanding of TCP/IP network functionality
  • Knowledge of VoIP phone systems – Specifically Cisco CUCM
