POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Product Delivery Manager is the "Mini-CEO" of the product. He / She has the full accountability of the product throughout the entire life cycle, including user needs, communication, finance, development, test, security, compliance, maintenance, transition, operations, support, continual improvement and decommissioning.
This position is instrumental in ensuring the sustainability and the cost efficiency of its products with the primary target to deliver value for the Group and will be responsible for identifying what processes and architecture capabilities their product will be contributing to. He / She must federate all initiatives in a functional area in order to have the largest potential customer base for his product.
The successful person will have content authority on features and user stories, providing the team with guidance as to what has to be delivered and ensuring flow of the Product through the Squad Backlog.
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
- Develop and manage the product & its respective assets (where applicable) across its entire development lifecycle with a focus on agile delivery
- Lead the ideation, technical solution selection, development, test, launch, costing, security, compliance, performance, resilience, availability, maintenance, support (break-fix) and continual improvement to drive maximum customer satisfaction
- Responsible for production support & ongoing maintenance of relevant IT Products (change management, patching, break-fix, full support lifecycle). This may require weekend and out of hours support
- Be the single point of contact and provide leadership to the autonomous, self- contained cross functional squad aligned to the product. Act as an Agile Master for the squad as required
- Management of product related metrics and KPI’s ensuring the changes & support for product are delivered in terms of quality, security, budget & stability
- Collaborate with business stakeholders in costing & shaping business requirements into viable and valuable requirements, epics & user stories for product
- Develop and execute on delivery plans for all assigned areas of responsibility; manage daily activities, issue resolution and communication across squads and teams in order to deliver new software on-time, on-budget, with high quality, and as-requested by the customer
- Manage and refine the product backlog with the Business Product Owner to best achieve goals in line with the product vision and roadmap to optimize the value of the product
- Appoint Technical Lead & Scrum Master to ensure agile best practices are followed in the operation of the squad
- Accepting and approving completed work items, or parts of the product to decide when to release the product & coordinate the delivery of the final product to the business
- Co-ordination of change activities relating to the product across the IT product squads
- Manage financials where required
- Research, learn, evaluate and make technology recommendations for the product
- Drive continued process improvements and efficiencies to help meet productivity gains & capacity management. Measure productivity and share best practices / implement improvements
- Ensure squad adherence to guild standards & best practices
Your Profile
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
- 5+ years’ experience in Project & Program Management or other IT Change delivery
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
- Able to lead teams in driving high standards of change delivery and product/service provision
- Broad understanding of insurance business, business technology, processes and applications
- Proven experience in prioritising pipeline of application changes
- Proven ability to develop product and effectively communicate recommendations to senior management
- Solid technical background/awareness with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Strong analytical & problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Agile methodology awareness
Desired
- Agile Master & Product Owner certified
- MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
- Solid technical background with hands-on experience in software development
- ITIL certification / awareness
