This position is responsible to provide technical and administrative support to ensure operations run efficiently for all information and communication systems within
the responsible area.

Minimum Qualifications:

As a successful IT Support Specialist you will have:
1. Two- or four-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience preferred.
2. 1-2 years computer repair
3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, and acceptable driving record.

Duties and Responsibilities - Detail

1. Investigate and resolve issues related to computers, hardware, printers, and mobile devices and network equipment.

2. Assist users having issues using computer software and hardware or inquiring how to use specific systems.

3. Assist with maintenance and support the company’s technology infrastructure.

4. Support user accounts including modification, addition, or deletion.

5. Provide system security including file security, and software/hardware.

6. Ensure printing environment is performing to user expectations.

7. Ensure timelines of hardware upgrades, maintenance, repairs, and coordination of outside vendor repairs.

8. Maintain and support hardware systems including servers, PC's, network equipment, communication equipment and peripherals.

9. Monitor equipment performance, document procedures and problems, coordinate with outside repair vendor, or repair equipment and follow -up on hardware maintenance as needed.

10. Coordinate MN DOT equipment requirements.

11. Assist in the process for WAN requirements and maintenance.

12. Provide support and assistance with telephone and cellular related issues.

13. Assist with upgrades, repair or coordinate repair of fax, copier, and other communication devices.

14. Provide software support for operating systems, office applications and other specialty applications.

15. Procure IT equipment.

16. Ability to travel out of state in support of IT operations throughout the region to include ND, SD, and IA.

17. Coordinate or conduct installation and testing of equipment as appropriate.

18. Ensure effective and efficient operation of telecommunications systems.

19. Monitor and coordinate repairs of either hardware or software support systems.

20. Ensure policies & procedures are maintained and followed.

21. Coordinate operations with Knife River IT departments.

22. Assist North Central Regional companies with data & software support.

23. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.

24. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc...).
Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors

25. Ensure company safety, OSHA safety and environmental regulation compliance

26. Performs other duties as assigned.
