Summary

Virtues Academy is a classical Christian school in Columbus, Ohio, opening August 2023. We are seeking a qualified teacher for a combined K/1 classroom. As a startup school, we are specifically looking for someone with a vibrant and entrepreneurial spirit who will help shape the culture of Virtues Academy from day one.

Responsibilities

This teacher will:

• Plan and implement instruction for students five days per week, 180 days per year
• Shepherd students’ hearts and minds by providing gospel-centered instruction, correction, and encouragement
• Differentiate instruction for a combined Kindergarten / 1st Grade classroom
• Integrate the principles of classical Christian education in all aspects of teaching
• Use effective classroom management skills to promote a healthy learning environment
• Accurately measure and record students’ participation and progress
• Communicate regularly with parents about students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development
• Participate in faculty meetings and the overall life and community of the school

Qualifications

This teacher must have:

• A bachelor’s degree
• At least 3 references (1+ spiritual and 1+ professional)
• A demonstrated ability to teach (3+ years of classroom experience preferred)
• Integrity and enthusiasm about working with children
• A wholehearted embrace of the Virtues Academy Statement of Faith and Mission Statement
• A willingness to grow in understanding and implementation of the principles of classical Christian education

Compensation

Competitive salary and benefits based on experience.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
