Bell has an opening for a Key Segment Manager supporting the Vertical Lift Energy Segment (oil/gas, wind, electric). In this role, you will represent Bell as a Segment Matter Expert directly supporting sales, marketing, strategy, and business development for the energy segment.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement growth opportunities in existing and new markets, in collaboration with Bell’s business development team.
  • Consult and liaise on aviation authority development of segment specific policy, process, and regulation.
  • Serve as a focal point into Bell for segment related activities.
  • Build relationships, gather intelligence, identify market opportunities, and support key segments & accounts.
  • Identify shifting trends, political or financial changes, and implement strategies to grow Bell business base.
  • Assist Regional Sales with directed sales campaigns by sharing segment specific expertise.
  • Anticipate potential customer requirements and address opportunities with Sales and Marketing.
  • Manage high level interface and develop close relationships with Aviation managers of regional, national, and international companies within segment and industry with a focus on enhancing support for Bell's customer base.
  • Interface with service sites, Commercial Regional Sales Managers, and customers to define customer requirements directly or in support of aircraft sales.
  • Research and analyze marketing information including prepared reports and professional periodicals and news sources indigenous to territory.
  • Partner with the Sales organization to prepare formal and informal proposals requiring coordination with pricing, applications engineering, and marketing data.
  • Drive accurate sales forecasts.
  • Develop and track scorecards, KPIs that measure impact on sales goals.
  • Provide expertise and industry input relative to Bell's efforts on new and existing product development.
  • Additional responsibilities may be required as directed by the organization and will be subject to change at any time.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, business, marketing, engineering, or related field.
    • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Position Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of demonstrated aviation or aircraft experience specific to the Energy Segment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational and regulatory requirements.
  • A diverse operational background, with Training, Safety, Maintenance and Flight Operations experience.
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels within the operational community.
  • Experience with program development and fleet management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a team.
  • Drive for sales results, perseverance, political savvy, listening.
  • Excellent communication skills, influencing, negotiating, leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid customer partnering skills: proficiency in using customer requirements and feedback to help design customized solutions.
  • Ability to anticipate and skillfully manage through challenges.
  • Aerospace background (OEM/Operator).
  • Able to travel globally 50% of the time to support the sales team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Documented progressive levels of responsibility such as (program manager, director of operations, chief pilot) or similar.
  • FAA Certified Commercial Helicopter Pilot.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface at all levels of the customer chain of command, as well as within the Textron Enterprise.
  • Familiarity with Bell’s current commercial customer base and products.
