JOB DESCRIPTION
Staff Laboratory Support Technician is responsible for providing support to the Laboratory and includes: receiving materials and supplies; receiving and processing samples; performing laboratory maintenance and calibration of standard equipment; cleaning and organizing laboratory, and collecting and preparing samples for analysis. Laboratory Support Technicians are expected to assist laboratory management in organizing incoming samples and maintaining the sample log, third party sample shipping, and other tasks as assigned in support of laboratory operations.

REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required Higher level support personnel must have combination of education and/or experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receives and processes samples and laboratory materials/supplies
- Orders laboratory supplies and maintains ordering sheets
- May assist in the preparation of samples for various testing applications
- Performs inventory of laboratory supplies, API, and chemicals
- Washes dishes, maintains cleanliness of laboratory work and inventory areas, maintains cleanliness of equipment and tools, organizes supplies and other general lab duties
- Documents work and maintains good laboratory records, maintains sample log and other sample related documentation (good documentation practices)
- May assist with daily laboratory tasks including temperature monitoring of incubators and refrigerators (environmental monitoring of laboratory), humidity checks, balance and pipette calibration/verifications, pH meter checks, etc.
- May assist with disposing of general laboratory trash, waste, and hazardous waste
- May assist in the development of SOPs, STPs, and work instructions (as assigned)
- Communicates results with laboratory management and interacts closely with the quality assurance department
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
