Land Surveyor

Regular, Full-Time, Hybrid Position (Office and Field)

San Luis Obispo, California

The Survey Department at Lea & Braze Engineering is expanding – we are looking for a Professional Land Surveyor to join our team of surveyors in our San Luis Obispo office. The Land Surveyor will have the opportunity to perform work in the office and field while working on projects within our entire area of operations.

This is a full-time position with hours of work to average 40 hours a week. Land Surveyors will be driving to/from offices and project sites. You will be on a Hybrid work schedule, working 2-3 days per week in the office (after completion of training).

Responsibilities:

· Boundary resolution and topographic surveys

· Construction staking and calculations

· FEMA elevations certificates and LOMA applications

· City and county setback and height verifications

· Prepare legal descriptions, plat and parcel maps, and Record of Surveys

· Perform deed and record map research

· Collaborate with field and office personnel on field survey projects

· Operate as a Survey Party Chief in a one or two-person field crew to perform surveys on an as-needed basis

· Collect field survey data using Trimble total station and controller or Trimble GPS

· Conduct field visits and inspections at construction sites and a wide variety of outdoor locations - ability to safely navigate all types of terrain, potentially hazardous sites and in all weather conditions

Experience & Qualifications:

· Office and field survey-related experience (Experienced candidates must have 5+ years of experience in boundaries, ALTA and ACSM requirements, preparation of legal descriptions, plat & parcel maps, and Record of Surveys)

· AutoCAD (5+ years for Experienced Candidates)

· Ability to operate a Total Station, base and rover as a one or two-person team.

· Professional Land Surveyor License is highly preferred.

Junior-level Land Surveyor candidates must have completed their degree or are in process of graduation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,778.00 - $123,718.00 per year
