Opal Foods is accepting applications for the position of Laundry / Housekeeping for our Anderson Layer Farm. This nighttime position will be responsible for laundering all farm employee clothing as well as cleaning the offices, common areas, bathrooms and barns. Must maintain compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. This position will also assist the Production Farm Lead with other projects and duties as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and wash company clothing ensuring all production employees have enough clean clothes for each day
  • Prepare new employee lockers and uniforms by labeling, folding, and ensuring proper sizing. Maintain clothing labels
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces within all office spaces, bathrooms, showers, and other high-traffic areas in the facility
  • Clean/sweep and mop/sanitize all floors in offices, kitchens, bathrooms, break rooms etc. (vacuum where needed)
  • Clean floors and surfaces in layer hen barns. Return loose hens to nesting areas
  • Keep track of cleaning supplies and clothing inventory and communicate any needs to the Lead or Production Manager
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead person or Manager.

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

  • Able to work on your feet for very long periods of time
  • Able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and lift up to 5 lb. hens
  • Must be comfortable in bird houses, surrounded by live birds on all sides
  • Demonstrate ability to operate laundry equipment and fold clothes
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and organization
  • Able to write and label clothes and lockers
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with limited supervision
  • Must be available to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays as scheduled
