The Role
As part of the data journalism and ad-hoc analytics arm for the Mass Markets organization, this person will collaborate with end-users from Marketing, Paid Media, Partner Sales, and Retention to understand business needs, deeply research pain points and opportunities, and leverage great story telling ability to inform and engage our audience.
The Main Responsibilities
- Proactively collaborate with stakeholders across Mass Markets to understand our business drivers, needs, and pain points.
- Create reporting, dashboards, and presentations on current performance to fill in business owners on the latest happenings.
- Develop sales projections and forecasts based on historic performance as well as changing market conditions.
- Understand not only sales performance, but all the upper funnel activity needed to achieve those sales. Take a closer look at site traffic, local events, direct mail, call volume, and more.
- Independently research burning questions in the business, owning the process from ideation through data analysis through presentation of results.
- Leverage data sources from all over the organization, synthesizing information from disparate places. Expect to dabble in SQL, SalesForce, Excel, PowerBI, Looker and more.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 years reporting & analytics work-related experience.
- A journalist’s mindset, showing a curiosity and willingness to dig into questions that haven’t been asked yet.
- Experience creating and analyzing data to make business improvements.
- Experience using data manipulation tools, such as Excel, Tableau, and SQL
- Experience with other data tools such as Python, R, and SPSS a plus
- Strong communicator who appreciates having meaningful dialogues about their work with stakeholders across the organization
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and across business units.
- Bring fact-based and data-supported recommendations to improve business performance.
- Move quickly. This is a role that lives and breathes in a fast-moving part of the business. A sense of urgency is key.
- Be curious, know the business, seek to understand, and share observations.
- Be self-motivated, candidates should be willing to develop and follow through on their own projects.
- Be willing to learn new techniques and skills on the fly.
- Adaptable, able to coalesce imperfect data and imperfect questions into great solutions.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
