The Coding & Billing Specialist Lead is responsibilities of a team leader include decision-making, mentoring, developing the team’s skills and managing conflict. Maintaining open communication, organizational skills along with the ability to delegate. Sustain integrity and a confident work ethic to instill within the team.

Responsibilities:
  • 40%: Supervise- Measure accuracy and metrics of each of the coder’s recommendations to ensure appropriate provider documentation. Direct and lead employees, supervising activities to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • 30%: Workflow: Sustains and completes their assigned providers with their given region in a timely manner. Delegate daily tasks to team members to optimize group effectiveness. Assist other assignments when the team is shorthanded. Identify errors by assigned coders, report these findings to the QA, and create an action plan.
  • 30%: Mentoring- Mentoring new employees and retraining employees with new protocols and processes as well with their errors that have been discussed with the QA.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum two (2) years prior coding experience with AAPC certifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong organization, training and process management skills
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn new tasks and concepts
