THE ROLE

Shawcor is seeking Lead Operators to support our manufacturing facility located in Rockwall, TX. The Lead Operator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining a safe, skilled, and engaged work environment. This role will be actively involved in revising Standard Operating Procedures, as well as Hazard Assessments & Analysis, and also ensuring the team understands and follows all Shawcor policies, standards, and standard operating procedures. You will be directly communicating with the shift supervisor to relay information to his/her team, as well as ensure the safe and timely execution of the week's production schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Initiating and performing the setup, running and shutting down of the Line equipment
• Evaluations of product quality followed with appropriate responses.
• Recording and validating manufacturing data.
• Insuring the line schedule is met.
• Minimize waste.
• Training, supporting and mentoring all Operators.
• Take ownership of equipment.
• Enhancement and thorough understanding of procedures, processes, equipment and product
• Operating forklifts and tools.
• Organizing and performing required preventative maintenance. Enter Fault reports as needed.
• Promoting a positive atmosphere within the company.
• Accepting guidance, leadership and supervision in order to achieve company goals.
• Fielding and screening minor problems and making authoritative decisions.
• Maintaining a clean and organized workplace while Teaching, implementing 5s oriented workplace.
• Completion of shop orders in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned.

Safety

• Maintain a safe working environment by aligning with corporate safety rules and regulations, and ensuring a culture of safety
• Ensure that the equipment and process operate efficiently and safely

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Available to travel within US and Canada for training purposes
• Able to work a rotational shift as required for business purposes.
• Available to work both weekdays/ weekends
• Basic computer skills
• Comfortable working in a plant environment
• Knowledge and prior experience of power tools
• Able to work at heights and confined spaces when required
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 20-50 lbs., bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
• Good work ethic and attitude with good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to meet pre-employment testing requirements (i.e. drug and alcohol, physical fitness, audiogram, and vision testing)
• Strong safety mindset
