Position: Paralegal/Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant
We are in need of a dedicated, organized individual to run the front office. You will be working at our office in Wyckoff, NJ and will be responsible for keeping the firm running smoothly:
- ensuring we have all supplies needed and keeping the office organized and clean
- answering phones and completing intakes for potential clients and forwarding to the correct office staff for current clients
- managing the calendars of the attorneys and senior paralegal
- drafting correspondence (ex. engagement and closing file letters and status reports from dictation)
- tracking registered agent files and due dates for annual reports, ensuring they get filed with the State on time
- taking an active role in residential real estate closings by liaising with the clients, tracking due dates, ordering title, and preparing closing documents
You will be working closely with and reporting to the senior paralegal.
Hours: Part-Time or Full-Time. We are flexible in the actual days and hours worked as long as you can cover Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
Pay: Dependent on experience, but we have a budgetary cap of $21/hr for the 2023 fiscal year. We are a small firm and cannot pay what big firms can, but we offer flexibility and a family friendly office in return.
Benefits: PTO (part-time and full-time)
Misc.: We are a family friendly office. The principal attorney has 3 kids that will often come by the office, and the senior paralegal has 2 kids who also make appearances. You are welcome to have your child(ren) come with you if needed on a day off from school, etc.
Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience as a paralegal or legal secretary at a law firm. We will consider entry level applicants that hold at least an Associates Degree AND a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program. Experience with Mac/Apple computers or ability to learn the technology quickly is a must.
Position is fully in office, not remote.
