Job description
KP LAW, a Pasadena personal injury litigation and appellate law firm, is seeking a full time legal assistant/secretary with at least 3 years of litigation experience.
The ideal candidate should have experience handling pre-litigation and litigation related activities, such as sending demand letters, filing court documents, obtaining clients' medical records from medical providers, and property damage claims.
The position requires the following skills and experience:
- College diploma is required;
- At least 3 years of experience in personal injury law firm handling both pre-litigation and litigation cases;
- Filing of complaints and court documents, including motions, in California superior court, through the use of e-filing portals;
- Preparing responses to written discovery;
- Proficiency in Spanish; and
- Preparation of trial binders.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Filevine software program or a similar program. Experience in filing notices of appeal and filing of documents in the California Court of Appeal through TrueFiling is a plus. Some training will be provided in the firm’s systems and procedures.
