Job Summary:

Working under the direction of Facility Demand and Orders Supervisor, the Logistics Analyst in Griffin, GA will ensure that product is shipped quickly and efficiently. Perform tasks to improve outbound shipping process flow. Using the 6 Sigma/Lean Guiding Principles, the incumbent participates in continuous improvement projects.

What you will do (includes, but not limited to):

  • Management of 3PL Shipping provider (Lonestar)
    • Tracking and forecasting spend
    • Provides warehouse RBM input.
    • Management of footprint/capacity
    • Manages scope of services
  • Management of 3PL Shipping provider (Lonestar) performance; quarterly or monthly leadership meetings
  • Performs monthly and quarterly BOL audits required for SOX compliance.
  • Audits and approves all ProForma invoices.
  • Engages with CAT Global Transportation on overall outbound requirements (forecast) and attends daily meetings for escalation.
  • Monitors shipping WIP (daily) and sets targets – facilitates daily or weekly meeting (frequency dependent upon time of month and year)
  • Provides a monthly Shipping and Revenue Recognition forecasts.
  • Provides leadership in daily shipping execution to support the factory’s RTS metric:
    • Escalation point of contact to the multiple CAT Market Segments/Sales teams.
    • Escalation point of contact to the Ship Loose team.
    • Escalation point of contact to the CAT Dealers – Shipping related.
    • Facilitates meetings across multiple teams (LST, Business Resources, Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement)
  • Manages year end Revenue Recognition process and execution.
  • Drives process and tool creation to streamline shipping.
  • Creates and maintains shipping standard work and interdepartmental procedures.

What you must have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Prior shipping experience (international and domestic)
  • Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma/Lean project management principles.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to MS Office and SAP

Top Candidates, will also have:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Extensive CAT computer systems knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification desired
