The Logistics Coordinator plans, arranges and monitors the transfer of goods and materials – inbound, outbound, foreign and domestic. The ideal candidate for this position will have knowledge about shipping protocols and regulations, as well as experience working with a variety of shipping companies. The successful candidate will also have prior experience working in a similar position and maintaining internal files and employee records.

Work Hours

Usual work hours are Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Overtime work may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily export and domestic freight coordination.
  • Responsible for daily updates, effective communication and streamline planning with sales, production, and warehouse operations teams.
  • Analyze information, processes and evaluating results to choose the best freight option for on-time delivery of goods.
  • Collaboration with all customer locations for effective order management.
  • Answers inquiries concerning billing or products, referring inquiries to designated departments for investigation when applicable.
  • Evaluate carrier/broker options and onboard new vendors as needed.
  • Execute biannual carrier evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Use and develop tools for tracking shipment schedules and monitoring key metrics.
  • Use and develop technical, troubleshooting and auditing skills.
  • Receives and processes incoming orders in industry specific software.
  • Creates and changes customer/vendor records as assigned.
  • Work easily in a cross-functional environment and be willing to cross train to accomplish department and company objectives.
  • Display excellent time management and organizational skills, be self-directed and comfortable with a multi-tasking, fast-paced work environment.

Education/Experience:

Minimum associate's degree or equivalent; one year related logistics and distribution experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Truck, rail, and ocean logistics operations experience a plus.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, stoop and walk. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms regularly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
