Position Purpose:

The goal of rehabilitation nursing is to assist individuals with a disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function. The rehabilitation staff nurse assists clients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for client's and their family's development.

Position Duties (not all inclusive)

• Under the direction of the Unit director and in conjunction with the Medical director, plans, directs, evaluates, and provides total nursing care and functions on the Inpatient Rehab Unit.
• Participates in Team conference and interdisciplinary care of inpatient rehab patients
• Works well as a team member.
• Performs hands-on nursing care by utilizing the nursing process to achieve quality outcomes for clients.
• Contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment and supports activities that promote the clients' return of function and prevent complications or chronic illness.

• BLS (CPR) Certification (required)
• Texas LVN licensure without restrictions (required)
