CNC Machine Operator (Turning Operator)

Shift: 2nd & 3rd | Pay: $20.25-$21.25 (+ $2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR 2ND & 3RD SHIFT) | Location: Carol Stream, IL

Job Summary

NTA Precision Axle in Carol Stream is looking for a Machine Operator. In this position, you will be responsible for operating CNC lathe and/or milling machine. Loads and inspects parts, changes offsets and tooling.

Responsibilities

· Machine Operations – Check specs, load/unload production lines.

· Utilize measurement tools such as pre-set gauges to verify quality of production.

· Perform 100% visual inspection of parts.

· Make necessary offsets.

· Change/adjust production tooling.

· Complete forms recording production results.

· Daily preventative maintenance, remove and dispose of chips/shavings, replenish fluids/lubricants,

· Comply with ISO 16949 & 14001 requirements, safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas - perform 5S cleaning responsibilities.

· Reads job instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.

· Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Skills and Abilities

· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to automated or robotic equipment.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; demonstrated ability to add and subtract decimals with high degree of accuracy.

· Must be able to read and interpret piece part drawings and make decisions regarding part quality and offset changes.

· Must have experience in machining and using measuring tools such as drop indicators, dial bore gauges, plug gauges, fixture related pin gauges.

· Able to work in a fast paced environment running multiple production lines, prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency.

· Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance, work overtime and weekends as needed.

Education

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Physical Requirements

· Work is performed in a manufacturing setting standing and walking on concrete floors throughout an 8 to 12 hour shift with frequent handling of metal parts weighing 1 to 5 pounds

· Visual inspection

· Occasional bending or reaching

· Use of hand tools

· Use of up to 50 lbs. of force to move heavy loads on wheels.
