We are seeking a team-oriented and artistic individual to join our Embroidery Department. The Machine Operator will be responsible for processing orders that require embroidery or heat transfer application on a variety of products to produce a quality finished product. The job requires hooping, loading, trimming, folding, inspecting and packing embroidery and/or heat transfer products. This position is responsible for machine observation during the embroidery process and ensuring we deliver a quality product on a timely basis.

Location: Across from the Chester County Airport (Right off the express 30 bypass)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparing area for operation:

  • Organize hoops, thread and backing.
  • Arrange layout including new, in process and completed orders.
  • Power up all equipment saving previous designs not completed.
  • Remove and clean all bobbin cases and oil specified area.
  • Check threading on all needles including thread placement for all needles.

Daily Production Schedule:

  • Read every order for all information associated with embroidery and/or heat transfer.
  • Match the product description on the order to the supplied materials.
  • Check the design # on the order making sure it matches the design # on the sequence sheet provided.
  • Check the embroidery machine memory for the designs currently ready to be embroidered, if not entered in embroidery machine.
  • Insert the compact flash card and input the design needed followed by the assignment of the requested colors in sequence, from the speck sheet.
  • Check the thread color on the sequence sheet to the tread color on the machine.
  • Check all spelling on the provided sew out preparation against the job order.
  • Only embroider orders that have been signed off on the production sheet, no exceptions.

Embroider the products:

  • Hoop all products.
  • Monitor the embroidery of product(s), keeping the machine running at all times.
  • During embroidery inspect the quality against the sew out approval.

Packing:

  • Conduct a complete inspection of the order making note of the requested:
    • Number of pieces
      • Product color
      • Size
      • Location
  • Color-match the embroidery to the provided sample on the sequence sheet.
  • Remove all excess backing from the underside of the product.
  • If the name drop is requested check placement and spelling.
  • Fold and pack all items to the set standards unless the otherwise specified.

End of day:

  • Shut down all machines.
  • Blow off all machines and equipment.
  • Wipe down all tables.
  • Vacuum or sweep and floor
  • Process orders that require embroidery or heat transfer application on a variety of products.
  • Organize hoops, thread and backing.
  • Knowledge of Barudan machine.
  • Repetitive movements and 75% to 95% of your day on your feet.
  • Arrange layout including new, in process and completed orders.
  • Power up all equipment saving previous designs not completed.
  • Remove and clean all bobbin cases and oil specified area.
  • Check threading on all needles including thread placement for all needles.
  • End of day shut down all machines and clean area
  • Blow off all machines and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math computation.
  • Familiarity with computers. Willingness to learn new computer programs necessary for the position.
  • Ability to endure extended periods of time on your feet, up to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to perform frequent repetitive tasks such as bending.
  • Ability to keep relationships with other departments such as shipping, receiving and customer service.
  • Ability to meet all required deadlines; ability to change priorities quickly as needed; ability to independently handle stress and maintain a mature problem-solving demeanor.

Credentials and Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three-five years production embroidery experience
  • Previous manufacturing experience
