The Machine Shop Helper will assist personnel within the machine shop with general transport, maintenance, and troubleshooting duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the smooth transition and transport of parts from the machine shop to inspection.
• Assist with maintenance on machines within the Machine Shop.
• Ensure machine shop is clean in appearance including removing trash and sweeping as required.
• Successfully operate forklift and move pallets of goods throughout shop floor.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. required.
• Minimum of two years of general assistant experience in a large machinery/equipment-manufacturing environment strongly desired.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to read a tape measure required.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus
• Valid state driver's license in good standing is required.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment, proactively contributing ideas to improve operations required.
• Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
• Basic oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
• Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
