Role: Mainframe Storage Engineer
PRF: DFS/DFS/2023/2063981
Location: -Nashville, TN - ONSITE from DAY1
Rel Exp Required: 8-10+ years
Responsibilities as Mainframe Storage admin
Day to day activities include to provide support for maintaining system storage administration of tape and disk management tools. Plan, review and implement changes related to the system storage including Disk and tape, backup, catalog, DR drill, VSAM, SMS, HSM, RMM and CA1 etc. Plan and implement new projects like flashcopy, tape migration, tape encryption, DR test. Handle transition of new accounts. Customization of new storage products.
TS7700
O Good knowledge of VTS and ATL with a grid environment. BVIR reporting using IBM tape tools. Tuning TS7700 to avoid throttling and get a better performance.
DASD boxes
O Good knowledge about DS8K, PMAX8000 boxes, experience with carving new DASD. Knowledge of SRDF and Global mirror.
Copy Export
O Implemented copy export process and worked upon copy export recovery process during DR test.
CA1 and RMM
O Good knowledge of Panels and JCL utilities. Updating the VPDS, RDS/VRS. Knowledge of housekeeping processing and reports.
DFSMS
O Updating SMS constructs and ACS routines according to the requirements. Recovered from problems like lost of CDS. Generating and analyzing DCOLLECT reports
DFHSM
O Handling day to day HSM problems with backup and migration, CDS reorg and monitoring the Primary and Secondary space management
Catalog
O Creation and Maintenance of catalogs.
DR drill
O Planning, preparing and executing the DR drill, bringing up the DR system using the restores, global mirror, EMC SRDF and copy export recovery.
O Good hands-on experience with REXX
Responsibilities as Mainframe system admin

O Maintenance of Mainframe infrastructure, providing support for storage, administration of the OS O Installation and Configuration of products. Applying patches and Holddata.
C Analyzing the System Dumps, EREP reports.
O Dynamic reconfiguration of IODF trough HCD.
O Changing the service class for jobs in WLM policies.
O IPL. Taking care of the failed jobs. Maintain Spool utilization. Applying License.
O RACF knowledge
O Maintaining and handling day to day activities involving DASD and tape. Using system tools and products
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Supplemental pay types:
