Job description

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the performance of all duties associated with the general care and maintenance of the interior and exterior of the buildings on the main campus and the program sites off campus (group homes, ALUs and donated goods store), in order to comply with all local, state and federal regulations. Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Linwood’s philosophy and demonstrate the ability to teach Linwood’s methods and philosophy to others.

• Carpentry
• Plumbing
• Electrical work
• May perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

• High school diploma.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience is required.
• Must have the physical capabilities to lift and move materials and the expertise to use tools and machinery associated with the performance of all maintenance duties.
• A skill set that includes the ability to interface in a professional manner with Linwood staff, parents, school system personnel and other professionals.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee is required to take any and all precautions to or stay within OSHA regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift

• Ellicott City, MD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Fixture installation: 1 year (Preferred)
• Facilities maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
