Position: Driver/Maintenance Assistant

Perform a wide variety of building maintenance and mechanical work including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, interior and exterior painting, masonry, drywall repair, small appliance repair, minor equipment repair, and troubleshooting; floor cover cleaning (shampooing, buffing, stripping waxing etc.)

This position also provides transportation to and from medical and personal appointments and group or individual leisure activities upon request.

Essential Functions

Transportation

• Ensure residents are transported safely to and from personal appointments upon request
• Facilitate leisure outings, including transportation, for residents including, but not limited to: shopping,

sight-seeing, etc.

Customer Service

• Continually observe resident satisfaction with life engagement programming and look for opportunities

to engage resident families for feedback regarding individual resident preferences

• Communicate with community leadership and resident families regarding successes and challenges

observed while transporting residents and leading leisure excursions

Collaboration

• Educate residents, resident families, community leaders, and team members on the importance of life

engagement programming

• Serve as a resource for team members regarding opportunities for additional informal life engagement

activities outside of the scheduled programming

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience
• Current Class E Driver’s License

Physical Working Requirements

• Driving a company vehicle during the day and at night, including at times during adverse weather conditions
• While performing essential job function, the employee is frequently required to be able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, do repetitive movement, sit and lift up to 50 lbs.

Occasionally the employee is required to lift or move more than 75 lbs.

• Ability to read and interpret documents, have common sense understanding, and perform basic mathematics
• Have vision and hearing adequate to perform essential job functions
