• Perform various activities on equipment and machines including reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
• Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
• Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs
• Lubricate or apply other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures; install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
• Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools
• Ability to perform time-sensitive work, with a focus on work quality and reliability
• Address any emergency calls while on the job site, particularly relating to production sensitive items
• Must be able to work independently and/or with maintenance teams of varying disciplines
• Ability to effectively communicate with floor operators to understand equipment related malfunctions, failures, and general defects
• Ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot machine/equipment/system issues, and be able to effectively communicate findings to the team leader or other direct supervision
• Practical knowledge and ability to use basic hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and heavy equipment
• Ability to operate mobile equipment, including forklifts and/or scissor, lifts a plus
• Ability to understand and execute technical directives
• Ability to understand and interpret mechanical schematics and/or manuals
• Good working knowledge of mechanical devices and linkages, conveying systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills on cooling towers, compressed air systems, and water chillers/heat exchangers
• Working knowledge of rigging techniques and general machinery handling
• General building maintenance knowledge
• General understanding and ability to use HMI controls
• Basic electrical knowledge (troubleshooting/repairs) a plus

• HS Diploma or equivalency; 2 year Electro-Mechanical technical degree preferred
• Must be knowledgeable in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, blue print reading (mechanical/electrical), understanding of welding and fabrication
• Previous electrical experience with troubleshooting capabilities; Previous mechanical experience with troubleshooting capabilities
• Must have knowledge of PLC and PC controls
• Prefer experience using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi and Omron systems
• Must have own tools and be able to use them safely and effectively
• Ability to work with others effectively as a part of a team is essential. Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed
