Job Purpose:

Maintenance Manager needed to coordinate and oversee the activities of mechanics, repairers, and installers. Manage production and quality by ensuring safe and proper operation and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment needed to accomplish the production required of the Recycling operation's commercial shredder.

Education / Training:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering or related field experience.

Job Title:

Key Job Elements:

  • Supervise/direct activities of maintenance and repair of commercial shredder to efficiently maintain industrial recycling operation;
  • Develop, analyze and implement programs and policies particular to the maintenance facility;
  • Ensure compliance with quality/cost/schedule requirements;
  • Interpret and evaluate data and make recommendations to company management relative to the maintenance facility;
  • Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment.;
  • Ensure all governmental agency inspection requirements and/or procedures are accounted for and documented;
  • Manage and direct the efforts of others;
  • Track and verify task audits;
  • Develop and implement employee training activities;
  • Special assignments as needed;
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with "Our Values in Action, Caterpillar's Code of Conduct."
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge of industrial machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance;
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services;
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources;
  • Knowledge of Operating and Project management system software;
  • 3+ years of mechanical experience in an industrial setting with electrical, industrial, heavy equipment and commercial shredder troubleshooting and repair;
  • Proven leadership and communication skills;
  • Capable of quick analyze and ability to solve maintenance issues;
  • Proficient with PC Applications including Microsoft Office;
  • Work on varied surfaces (concrete floors, gravel, dirt, railroad tracks);
  • Constant standing, walking;
  • Frequent bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching.
