We are actively seeking a self-motivated and professional Restaurant Manager to join our team. The manager will work at our Oakland locations on College Ave and Grand Ave and our North Berkeley location on Solano Ave.

Position Overview and Responsibilities
The goal of Zachary’s management team is to maintain our high standard of quality and our commitment to excellence, protect our brand, and ensure success, profitability, and longevity. Roles and responsibilities of Zachary's management include:
- Modeling a standard of excellence, enthusiasm for Zachary's and the restaurant industry, and a consistent, professional performance
- Establishing and monitoring the highest standard for food and beverage quality, prepping, assembly, cooking, and presentation
- Ensuring customer service and hospitality meet the company’s standards
- Ensuring facilities are in order and the atmosphere provides a positive customer experience.
- Hiring, training, scheduling, developing, motivating, praising, and leading crew members. Providing feedback and corrective plans as necessary. Managers are responsible for hands-on employee training on a variety of tasks in both the kitchen and the dining room.
- Directing and delegating work to crew members
- Implementing, teaching, and upholding company policies and procedures
- Overseeing supply ordering and vendor relationships
- Using both crew and manager functions of our Point-of-Sale system (Toast) and our payroll system (Paycom)
- Ensuring proper food handling procedures
- Ensuring workplace safety both on a daily basis and by considering improvements to systems, spaces, or processes that would enhance safety
- Communicating throughout the day, via email, with the management team (regular use of the Google Suite including email, calendar, task functions, etc.)
- Opening or closing the restaurant on most shifts
- Adapting to or resolving situational challenges as they arise, such as equipment malfunction, staffing issues, and other business disruptions
- Having a “critical eye” on our daily business practices – constantly searching for ways we can be better
- Over time, managers are trained in both kitchen and dining room procedures. Managers are responsible for overseeing both departments.
- Managers have daily interaction with customers, in-person, over the phone, and via our Point of Sale app.
- Managers address all customer complaints and concerns.

- At least two years of restaurant experience and preferably at least one year of management experience

Major Job Requirements
- Work and maintain a presence in all areas of the restaurant
- Handle physical labor including lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion, bending and reaching throughout shift, occasionally climb ladders, standing for 9+ hours (most management shifts are between 9 and 10+ hours).

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
