Who are we hiring?

The Manager Data Center is responsible for the overall design, build out and optimization of the physical and cloud-based data centers within which our core infrastructure resides. This role will work closely with the Network Engineer and Storage Engineer in this design and execution and will supervise the Data Center Technicians. This role will design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges.

What will you do?
  • Define, document and lead in the implementation of “best practices” in our data centers.
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor for Data Center Technicians.
  • Lead in planning and optimization of data center space, working with network, storage, and related teams to optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage projects to assure that they meet customer requirements within the agreed upon timeframes and budgets.
  • Develop and lead the deployment of innovative solutions to address operational challenges.
  • Work with cross functional teams on a given project as a subject matter expert.
  • Perform data center, network, storage or server upgrades, integration, rebuilds and other projects as required with the rest of the team.
  • Act as escalation point in the diagnosis and troubleshooting all data center, network, hardware, and storage related issues as required with the rest of the team.


What do you need to succeed?
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with data center design, construction, and optimization
  • BS degree in CS, EE, CE, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with managing geographically distributed infrastructure across multiple locations
  • Strong knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling
  • Strong experience with data center technologies like power distribution systems, UPS, CRAC, generators, air handlers, PUE, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of facility and server telemetry systems, sensoring, protocols, and data collection (i.e.: polling, aggregation, display, alarm, archive)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to establish relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work with team members to deliver successful and timely results.
