Job title: Manufacturing Scheduler – Leaf Spring Manufacturing

Reports to: Manufacturing Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The manufacturing scheduler is responsible for scheduling manufacturing production on a daily basis in order to meet customer demand.

Primary Duties (5-7 Key responsibilities)

  • Check steel availability for product and order if needed.
  • Check capacity of machines and plant cells for production.
  • Assign due dates to manufacturing orders.
  • Operate AS/400 for daily use of queries in calculating due dates.
  • Use data transfers between AS/400 and the DPI network in order to create production spreadsheets.
  • Perform customer service by advising when parts will be available to customers.
  • Assist DPI purchasing dept by making sure that accessories are readily available.
  • Order quench oil for heat treat operations when necessary.
  • Expedite emergency orders.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to teach coworker in print reading, inspection and work instructions.
  • Above average understanding of manufacturing work instructions.
  • Working understanding of materials, manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Demonstrated skis with Microsoft Word & Excel and MacPac preferred.
  • Willingness to understand verbal and written work instructions, provide feedback and complete instructions.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented and wiliness to learn new information as required.
  • Willingness to document nonconforming product when production has a difference in understanding.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 50 pounds and extreme heat.
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.

Education And/or experience:

  • Associate degree from 2-year college or technical school; or 6 months – 1 year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of both.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
