::LOCATION INFORMATION:
This is an exciting time for the new Manufacturing Supervisor because Crown Olympia Plant is undergoing significant growth and investment in our people and manufacturing capabilities. Our plant currently produces 12 oz. beverage cans and will soon make 16 oz, 7.5 oz. and 12 oz. sleek beverage cans.
LOCATION ADDRESS: 1202 Fones Road, OLYMPIA, WA
SALARY: $85,000 - $95,000, DOE (negotiable)
- 24/7 Production Operation.
- Will keep the same schedule as his/her production team, working 4-days on/4-days off.
- Hours of operation are either: 6 a.m.to 6 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Will normally work up to 13-hour days to allow time for shift information pass-downs to the incoming supervisor.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Manufacturing Supervisor works closely with the Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent and/or Quality Assurance Manager ensuring that the production of quality products meets or exceeds customer expectations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the Plant Superintendent, the Manufacturing Supervisor’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to the following:
- Oversee production related operations with an emphasis on safety.
- Lead all activities and model all behavior with a primary concern for the safe operations.
- Maintain constant awareness of line status and communicate regularly to other leaders.
- Lead and support line process teams in their efforts to improve safety, quality, productivity and improve the workplace environment.
- Provide coaching and feedback to employees on job performance through verbal communication and formal performance appraisal mechanisms.
- Hold employees accountable to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Plan process activities and follow established priorities in regard to procedures, equipment capabilities, process team performance, and staffing levels.
- Communicates all pertinent information between departments and shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems and/or any other related information.
- Work with employees on identifying, discussing solutions and implementing fixes on machinery and equipment problems.
- Inspect product to ensure compliance to standards and coordinate required adjustments.
- Oversees quality and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment limits.
- Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, disciplinary actions, monthly SAFE cards, time and attendance, injury and process control sheets.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Education/GED
- 5-7 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a high-speed environment
- At least three (3) years of proven supervisory experience.
- Must be available to work various shifts, if needed, and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Packaging industry experience
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box.”
- Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.
- Demonstrate employee relations skills and the ability to motivate people.
- Effective time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the Manufacturing Supervisor is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Generally, works in a plant environment and some job duties inside a typical office setting.
- May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, wide range of temperatures and/or frequently loud noise levels.
